Jennifer Neitzel - Dedicated Educational Leader and Administrator
With 33 years of distinguished service in public education, Jennifer Neitzel has built a reputation for blending strategic vision with a deep, people-centered commitment to excellence. Her career with Salem-Keizer Public Schools progressed from classroom teacher to assistant principal and then to principal, culminating in 21 years of school leadership, first at Morningside Elementary and later as the founding principal who opened Kalapuya Elementary in 2011. In those roles she guided communities of more than 500 students and approximately 50 staff members each year, consistently elevating school culture, staff retention, and academic outcomes so that her schools ranked in the top decile statewide.
Jennifer believes exceptional schools are created by empowering educators, fostering clear and respectful communication, and ensuring every student has genuine opportunities to succeed. She champions accountability, responsible financial stewardship, and instructional practices grounded in measurable results. Her approachable yet high-expectation leadership style has forged lasting partnerships with families, staff, and the broader community. She also directed a large-scale district summer literacy program that served more than 1,300 elementary students and coordinated community celebrations drawing over 1,000 attendees annually.
In 2024 Jennifer brought this same disciplined, relationship-driven expertise to Powell Banz Valuation, LLC, where she now serves as an Analyst, conducting site inspections, market analysis, and USPAP-compliant appraisals of commercial properties across Oregon. She is currently completing her Certified General Appraiser credentials. Holding a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a mathematics minor from Oregon State University, Jennifer Neitzel continues to model thoughtful leadership, lifelong learning, and an unwavering commitment to helping people and organizations reach their highest potential.
